Kimberly Lost 40 Pounds with the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge!
My name is Kimberly and I am 39 years old. I lost 40 pounds (and counting) with the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge.
It has taken me a lot of twists and turns to get here. I hope my story inspires you to never give up on reaching your goals!
I have been married to my husband, David, for 8 years now and have a 7-year-old son, Connor. I am an Escrow Officer by trade and love to bowl and watch movies.
Growing up, I was very athletic. When I got my desk job 15 years ago, my fitness level changed. I continued to eat a lot, but I didn’t continue being active. Slowly but surely, I put on about 65 pounds in 5 years. When my husband proposed, in 2010, I decided to lose weight for the wedding.
I got myself a personal trainer and lost about 40 pounds between working out and eating less. It was great, however, I couldn’t afford to keep my trainer and I really wanted sustainable results.
After I had my son, I started to gain the weight back. I tried Atkins, Lindora and a few other weight loss programs. They worked short-term, and then I gained the weight back. I even joined a small group training gym and then injured myself and stopped going.
I joined the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge with CleanFoodCrush last year and lost about 20 pounds. But then, I stopped Eating Clean and gained weight again. Come December 2017, I found myself weighing 275 pounds.
After seeing the picture of me in my Christmas dress, I decided it was time to transform my eating habits and get myself healthy. I have a son that I want to see grow up and be able to play and do sports with.
At the beginning of this year, I declared I would lose 80 pounds by the end of the year. I got my notes from the CleanFoodCrush challenge and joined a new gym. I lost a few pounds, however, I was not holding myself accountable.
Finally, in March, I purchased the annual membership for CleanFoodCrush. Having the accountability partners has made all the difference and has been the best decision I have ever made for myself.
I had to embrace that changing my weight for the long term meant changing my relationship to food. There is no quick fix, and eating well has to become a daily choice rather than a chore. I have lost 40 pounds, I am down 6 pant/dress sizes and have lost about 7% body fat!
I feel great and am looking forward to the rest of my weight loss in 2019. I have 40 more pounds to go and I’m proud of myself for doing what it takes to get there!
If I had to pick an area that was the most challenging for me, it would be meal prep. Making time for it has been challenging, so I found it easiest to prep in bulk and freeze the meals on Sundays and then during the week, I just have to pull out what I need that day. Meal Prep really is super helpful once you get the hang of it!
For anyone interested in taking on the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge, I say YES, go for it. It might feel a bit overwhelming at first, but take your time and in the long run, it is well worth it!
This isn’t a short-term weight loss plan where you deprive yourself, work out way too hard and end up right back where you started. It’s a lifestyle change with community support to help you stay with it.
For the best results, stick to the plan. If you ever slip, have compassion for yourself and get back on track. I fell off the wagon many times, giving in to the thoughts like, “this is never gonna happen” or “just one more donut won’t hurt”.
What got me back on track is remembering that the goal is long term, not short term. And because of that mindset shift, I’m getting the results I want! It’s all ok!
